Antivirus Application for elementary OS

Do you really need an anti-virus application for elementary OS. The short answer is no. The long answer is yes. If you exchange files with Windows machines and want to protect your friends and family from harm. There also have been cases lately of linux machines get infected of careless users.

This guide will show you how to install NOD32 Antivirus.

First download the application here: Go to download page and choose “ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Linux Desktop”. Remember to pick 64-bit.

When done downloading right click on the file and click Properties. Under Permissions set Owner to Execute.

Click on the downloaded file to start installation and follow the Setup Wizard.

You can also use this command in the terminal to launch NOD32 Antivirus;

/opt/eset/esets/lib/ %f
